This response enabled our ancestors to either confront the danger or escape from it.

    But in the modern world, the same biological response designed to protect us from predators can be triggered by different, non-life-threatening situations. It’s often these fears, like the fear of public speaking or fear of rejection, that hold us back from pursuing our dreams.
